Former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vasant Dhoble, widely recognized as a “RAID Specialist” during his time in the force, has sparked significant speculation after banners featuring his image appeared in the Goregaon West area of Mumbai.

The banners, put up during the Ganesh festival by local residents, have raised strong rumors about Dhoble's candidacy in the Assembly elections. Known for his no-nonsense approach to law enforcement, Dhoble's reputation stretched from dealing with gangsters to Bollywood celebrities, many of whom reportedly feared his crackdowns.

Although Dhoble's exact political intentions remain unclear, his potential entry into the Assembly race has become a topic of widespread discussion.

It is yet to be revealed whether Dhoble will align with a political party or contest as an independent candidate, leaving many speculating about which party banner he might adopt or whether he will go solo in the election battle.

The interest of police officials in politics isn’t new this election cycle. Former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Pande had previously shown a keen interest in contesting the Lok Sabha elections from North Central Mumbai.

However, after receiving a request from the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition to refrain from entering the race, Pande withdrew his candidacy. Despite this, Pande is reportedly now preparing to launch his own political party to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections. Sources close to him have confirmed that he is seriously considering forming his own political organization to support his Assembly run.
