Heavy Rain in Pimpri-Chinchwad: Eight Tree Fall Incidents Reported

Pimpri: In the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall in Pimpri-Chinchwad city has caused trees to fall in eight areas, including Chinchwad, Akurdi, New Sangvi, and Nehrunagar. This has resulted in traffic disruptions and congestion. Fallen trees obstructing the roads have been cleared.

The city experienced heavy rain starting at 8 PM on Saturday. Various parts of the city continued to receive rain throughout the night. There was a brief respite from 10 AM to 12 PM on Sunday, but the rain resumed in the afternoon.

Fallen Trees in Various Areas: Several trees fell on cars, homes, and busy roads. Residents reported a tree falling in Dalvi Nagar, Chinchwad, at 7:28 AM. Another tree fell near the Khandoba Mal at Shitaladevi Temple in Akurdi at 8:45 AM.

In Chinchwad MIDC, a tree fell at KSB Chowk at 9:15 AM. In Vijay Nagar slum, Chinchwad, a tree fell around 11:45 AM. Another tree fell near Maruti Temple in Nehrunagar at 12 PM.

Trees also fell at Raghu Mauli Garden at 12:15 PM, National Garden in Old Sangvi at 1 PM, and Anand Vasaht in Phugewadi at 1:30 PM. After receiving information about these incidents, the fire brigade promptly cleared the trees to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Efforts to Restore Traffic

Fire brigade teams from Chikhali Pradhikaran and Pimpri headquarters, including personnel Pratik Kamble, Shahaji Chandanshive, Milind Patil, Sandeep Gaikwad, and Suresh Ghode, worked diligently to remove fallen trees from the roads and restore traffic flow.
