Pune: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Hemant Rasane has secured a decisive victory in the Kasba Peth Assembly constituency, defeating Congress candidate Ravindra Dhangekar by a margin of 19,413 votes.
This victory marks the BJP's return to power in its traditional bastion after suffering an unexpected defeat in the by-election earlier this year.

Hemant Rasane (BJP): 1,02,578 votes
Ravindra Dhangekar (Congress): 83,165 votes
Victory Margin: 19,413 votes
Kasba Peth has historically been a BJP stronghold, but Congress's win in the recent by-election had delivered a significant blow to the party. This time, however, BJP ran an aggressive campaign and succeeded in reclaiming the seat.
Hemant Rasane's lead was evident from the start of the counting process, and he continued to increase his margin round after round.
Although Congress's Ravindra Dhangekar attempted to close the gap, Rasane’s strong local presence and BJP's organizational support ultimately secured a clear victory.
The win is being celebrated as a prestigious comeback for the BJP in Kasba Peth and further solidifies the party's position in Pune's political landscape.
