IAS Officer Puja Khedkar interrogated by Washim Police

Pune: Trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar was questioned on by the women's police team in Washim on Monday (July 15) late night. This interrogation lasted for three hours late into the night.

The exact reason for this inquiry remains unknown, but it is suspected that Khedkar might be in deep trouble. The Washim police obtained permission from the District Magistrate Bhuvaneshwari before questioning Khedkar late at night.

After the interrogation, the police team left without speaking to the media, leaving the purpose of the inquiry unclear.

New revelations are emerging daily regarding Puja Khedkar's case. It is alleged that Puja Khedkar attempted the UPSC exam twice using different names, despite having exhausted her attempts.

It has been also reported that Khedkar has obtained disability certificates from various hospitals across the state. She has secured certificates for visual impairment and mental illness from the District Hospital in Nagar.

Additionally, she obtained a disability certificate from a hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad. These actions have placed her under suspicion.

Khedkar appeared for the UPSC examination under the reserved quota. However, it is alleged that her father, Dilip Khedkar, possesses assets worth ₹40 crores, and her mother, Manorama Khedkar, is a former sarpanch.

Despite this, it is alleged that she availed benefits meant for the non-creamy layer category, which has led to further scrutiny. The central government has also taken note of this case, and a central committee will conduct an investigation.

Puja Khedkar had addressed media on Monday (July 15) and claimed innocence till proven guilty. Khedkar had alleged that a media trial is being conducted against her.

"I will respond to the committee formed to investigate my case. According to our Constitution, no one can be deemed guilty until proven otherwise. Currently, there is a media trial against me," Khedkar had said.

Puja Khedkar's parents are currently absconding. They have been charged in a case involving the intimidation of a farmer. When asked about her parents location, she said, "I have no idea about that. I cannot comment on the matter. Currently, I am in my probation period and continuing my studies."
