Nisarg Gram, inaugurated by the Prime Minister in February 2024, is India’s first government naturopathy hospital, featuring 250 beds, multi-disciplinary research, and an extension service center.
NADFM, a Central Training Institute under the Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence, provides training to IDAS officers selected through the UPSC examination.
It is also accredited under the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions (NSCSTI) under the Capacity Building Commission, part of Mission Karmayogi.
The visit to Nisarg Gram was organized to promote the holistic development of the officers by exposing them to diverse sectors and disciplines.
During their day-long visit, the officer trainees participated in engaging sessions and practical demonstrations led by naturopathy experts. They explored various natural healing techniques, dietary regimens, and lifestyle interventions advocated by the institute.
This hands-on experience offered invaluable insights into integrating naturopathic approaches with conventional health practices.
Prof. Dr. K. Satya Lakshmi, Director of NIN Pune, conducted an enlightening session on the intricacies of naturopathic principles and lifestyle disorders.
Her expertise highlighted the holistic approaches to health and wellness, emphasizing the integration of natural healing methods with conventional medical practices.
Dhiraj Dharamchand Gugale, Joint Director of NADFM, Pune, emphasized the importance of such visits for the personal well-being of officers and their overall professional growth. He noted that IDAS officers often manage large-scale projects as financial managers and budget controllers, making such diverse exposures invaluable.
