The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast partly cloudy skies with the possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of the city.
This break in the rain spells good news for Pune residents, who can look forward to celebrating the Ganesh festival without weather-related interruptions.
The IMD has noted that a low-pressure area is currently active over northeast Madhya Pradesh, influencing weather patterns in the region.
Additionally, a trough line in the lower atmospheric levels extends from South Gujarat to North Kerala, contributing to the weather conditions in Maharashtra.
While Pune city and its surrounding areas are expected to see mostly dry weather, there is a cautionary 'Yellow Alert' issued for the ghat regions near Pune and Satara districts.
The IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in isolated places within these hilly areas on Thursday, September 12th. These ghat regions, known for their dense forests and steep terrain, are particularly susceptible to localized heavy downpours, which can lead to temporary disruptions or hazardous conditions.
In the plains, light to moderate showers may occur in some isolated areas, but these are unlikely to dampen the overall festive mood. Pune residents are encouraged to remain updated on local weather advisories, especially those planning to travel through ghat regions during the alert period.
