Pune: Three students from G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management have been selected for a coveted internship at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) after demonstrating exceptional skills in the Indian Space Hackathon 2024.

Arpit Chandane, Devesh Mhaske, and Sahil Nichat, third-year students from the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Department, reached the final round of the competition, earning them the opportunity to intern at ISRO.

The Indian Space Hackathon, a 30-hour national event organized by ISRO, saw participation from 3,062 students from India's top engineering institutions, including IITs and NITs.

The grand finale, held at the National Remote Sensing Center in Hyderabad, featured only the top 30 teams, including the trio from Raisoni College.

During the hackathon, Arpit, Devesh, and Sahil showcased their innovative problem-solving abilities and technical expertise in addressing complex challenges related to space technology.

Their impressive performance led to their selection for an internship at ISRO, where they will collaborate with leading scientists and engineers on advanced space research projects.

Dr. R. D. Kharadkar stated that the Indian Space Hackathon was a 30-hour event organized by ISRO and was held at the national level for the first time.

A total of 3,062 students from major engineering institutes across India, including IITs and NITs, registered for the competition. Only the top 30 teams made it to the grand finale, which was recently held at the National Remote Sensing Center in Hyderabad.

The Indian Space Hackathon 2024 provided an opportunity for our students, Arpit, Devesh, and Sahil, to tackle complex challenges in space technology. Their innovative solutions and technical skills impressed the judges.

Their success in this competition led to their selection for an internship at ISRO, where they will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge space research projects alongside some of the country's top scientists and engineers.

Sunil Raisoni, Chairman of Raisoni Education, and Shreyas Raisoni, Executive Director of Raisoni Education, congratulated the students on their achievement.
