Pune: A 23-year-old man named Aditya Shivaji Saudagar sustained serious injuries on Wednesday evening after a tree branch fell on his head while he was waiting at a bus stop on Jangli Maharaj Road.

The incident occurred in front of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park, and the victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

A similar incident occurred in February on Jangli Maharaj Road, where a tree branch fell on a woman riding a two-wheeler. Another incident in Bibwewadi saw a young man lose his life due to a falling branch.

In the fresh incident, the injured young man has been identified as Aditya Shivaji Saudagar, aged 23. He was standing at the PMP bus stop in front of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park on Jangli Maharaj Road on Wednesday (August 21) evening when a tree branch suddenly fell on his head.

He was immediately admitted to a private hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Before the monsoon season, the municipal corporation’s garden department typically removes dangerous branches. However, citizens have complained that due to the negligence of the garden department, incidents of rotting branches falling have occurred, leading to serious accidents.
