Pune: Students seeking admission to Class 11 in junior colleges in the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal areas have been given a final opportunity to secure their places.
The education authorities have initiated "Daily Merit Rounds," which will continue until October 5, giving students another chance to gain entry into colleges based on their merit.
This year, a total of 1,20,805 seats have been made available across 343 junior colleges, with 1,03,804 students having registered for the admission process. As of now, 78,219 students have secured their admissions, but a significant number of students are still awaiting their placements.
The Daily Merit Round will allow students to apply daily based on available merit positions. The list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be published every morning at 10 a.m.
Students must submit fresh applications each day between 6 p.m. and the following day’s merit list announcement. This allows applicants the flexibility to adjust their college preferences based on real-time rankings.
Each student can choose between one and 10 junior colleges as per their preference in the application form. Those who do not get admission must reapply for the next day's merit list.
Every day, students will be able to view their rank and decide whether to accept the available position or continue in the waitlist for another preferred college.
The admissions process has already seen three regular rounds and six special rounds, but this ongoing daily merit system offers a continuous opportunity for selection. With 42,586 seats still available, students have an urgent window to finalize their college admission before the process closes.
