Kiren Rijiju Urges DICCI to Empower Rural and Tribal Entrepreneurs

Pune: The Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) has made significant strides in promoting entrepreneurship within the Dalit community over the past two decades.

Speaking at a conference organized by DICCI in Pune, Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, emphasized the need for DICCI to extend its reach to every village in the country, particularly targeting the Northeastern tribal communities, to help them become entrepreneurs. Rijiju assured full support from the central government for this initiative.

"Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was not only a social reformer but also an economist whose economic policies should be embraced by all," said Rijiju during his interaction with Dalit entrepreneurs.

He praised DICCI for its pivotal role in nurturing Dalit entrepreneurship and urged the organization to continue its efforts in empowering marginalized communities.

The event commenced with a welcome address by DICCI founder Milind Kamble, who also presented Rijiju with a statue of Lord Gautama Buddha as a gesture of honor. Kamble shared insights into DICCI’s current initiatives and future plans aimed at furthering the cause of economic empowerment.

The conference was attended by notable figures such as former Minister of State Dilip Kamble, DICCI advisors Sachin Vani, Western India President Avinash Jagtap, Women’s Coordinator Seema Kamble, and Pune City President Lalit Bansode, alongside leading Dalit entrepreneurs.

Maitreyi Kamble moderated the event, while Bansod delivered the vote of thanks.
