Pune: In a significant land fraud case, three individuals have been charged with deceiving 19 people and cheating them out of ₹2.8 crores by selling plots in Wagholi despite the land being under legal restriction and a company's claim on it. The plots were marketed under the name "Arohi Park."

Deepak Asaram Palaskar (34, resident of Wagholi) and 18 others filed a complaint.

Consequently, Chandrakant Ramchandra Sanglikar (56, resident of Pune), Yogesh Balasaheb Katke (40, resident of Wagholi), and Sukhdev Suresh Gawde (resident of Wagholi) have been charged.

According to the police, Palaskar and the others purchased land in Arohi Park in 2021. At that time, the land was registered under Sanglikar's name, who also provided them with purchase deeds.

However, their names were never recorded in the official land records. For two years, the plot owners pursued the record update without success.

On July 7, 2023, Palaskar checked the online land records and discovered that the land was recorded under PACL Company as per the Justice Lodha Committee's report.

After learning this, the plot owners approached Katke and Gawde, who facilitated a meeting with Sanglikar. Sanglikar assured them that he would resolve the issue but failed to do so.

The plot owners had paid Sanglikar via checks. Realizing that their names were still not recorded and the issue was not being resolved, they filed a fraud complaint with the police.
