Pune: Severe weather conditions, including torrential rain and strong winds, have severely disrupted life in the Sahyadri mountain region of Bhor Taluka.
Incidents of trees uprooting, electric poles falling, roofs blowing off houses, walls collapsing, landslides, and halted traffic have been reported.
The taluka administration has urged citizens to exercise caution, and disaster management personnel have been instructed to remain alert.
Heavy rains have been recorded in the catchment areas of Bhatghar and Neera-Devghar dams. Over the last 24 hours, Kurunji near the Bhatghar dam and Shirgaon, the origin of the Neera River, recorded the highest rainfall. Kurunji recorded 248 mm of rain, and Bhatonde recorded 243 mm as of Thursday (July 25) morning.
Shirgaon recorded 154 mm at 2 AM, and Pangari recorded 164 mm at 5 AM. The Neera-Devghar dam site recorded 95 mm, while the Bhatghar dam site recorded 35 mm.
Tehsildar Sachin Patil has instructed all government employees to remain alert and has advised citizens, especially farmers in hilly areas, to exercise caution.
In case of natural disasters or accidents, citizens should contact the Disaster Management Cell at the Tehsil office (Phone: 02113-222539) and the Police Station (Phone: 02113-222533), as well as village labor clerks and Mandal officer offices.
