Lonikand Police Station: 'Missing' PSI Rahul Kolpe Found at Nhavi Sandas

Pune: Police Sub-Inspector Rahul Kolpe, the officer from Crime Detection Branch of Lonikand Police Station who had been reported as 'missing' since July 26, has been located and safely returned home.

PSI Kolpe was located at Nhavi Sandas area of Haveli Taluka, around 25 kilometres from Wagholi area.

Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Godse and his fellow police officers successfully traced Kolpe from Nhavi Sandas area. Kolpe had posted a status at 3:11 PM on July 26th, mentioning that no one should call or message him for some time. After posting this message on his Whatsapp Status, Kolpe had left home.

Kolpe was having his lunch on July 26 afternoon. While having his lunch, Kolpe mentioned that despite doing good work, he was humiliated by his senior officer in front of others.

Thereafter, leaving his meal halfway, Kolpe told his family that he would return in five minutes. Kolpe then left home but did not return for a long time.

Kolpe's wife then approached Lonikand police station and reported her husband as missing. After this missing complaint was received at 11pm on July 26, there was a stir at the police station.

This news of a police officer being missing spread like wildfire within the jurisdiction of Lonikand police station and within the police force of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad city and Pune Rural Police circles.

There was also significant discussion within the police force that a senior officer had treated the missing officer in a demeaning manner. As a result, the task of finding this proficient officer, who was skilled in quickly solving crimes, fell upon the Lonikand police team.
