Pune: A shocking case of prolonged sexual abuse spanning four years has emerged from Indapur taluka, where a 19-year-old woman was subjected to coercion and sexual abuse since she was a minor.

The perpetrators used an objectionable video to blackmail her and forced her into a live-in relationship.

The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, along with charges of rape and other offenses. Four individuals, including Nasir Sikandar Mulani, his mother Parveen Mulani, and two of the victim's relatives, have been arrested.

According to the police complaint, the abuse began in 2020 when the victim, then in 11th grade, became acquainted with Nasir, a 12th-grade student at the same college. Nasir created explicit videos of the victim and used these to threaten her, warning that he would kill her family if she did not comply.

Over the course of four years, the victim was forced into a live-in relationship through a notarized agreement and was subjected to sexual abuse at a lodge and a residence in Baramati.

Nasir’s relatives and other individuals allegedly assisted him in the abuse, although charges have yet to be filed against some of them.

The victim's complaint details how she was harassed, physically assaulted, and forced to consume meat by Nasir’s relatives. Over time, the victim’s mental health deteriorated due to the continuous abuse.

When she finally confided in her uncle, she was unable to file a formal complaint immediately due to her emotional state. After recovering, she mustered the courage to officially report the matter, leading to the arrest of the four accused.

The complaint also reveals that Nasir's family conducted a Muslim religious ceremony at his aunt’s house in a nearby village, falsely portraying it as a legitimate marriage.

During this period, Nasir’s mother allegedly convinced the victim to turn against her own family. The victim’s parents eventually found her and brought her back home.

However, Nasir continued to visit her for two months while she stayed with relatives. A female relative allegedly coerced her into consuming alcohol and forced her into continuing her relationship with Nasir.

The complaint suggests that more than 16 people were involved in aiding and abetting the abuse over the years.
