Pune: Ending all speculation, Parvati Assembly Constituency MLA Madhuri Misal announced that she will contest the upcoming assembly elections from the same constituency where she has worked for 15 years.
Misal asserted that her dedicated efforts in developing infrastructure and resolving key issues have earned the trust of her voters, making Parvati a well-developed constituency. She also dismissed rumors of her contesting from Kasba, confirming her focus remains on Parvati.
Speaking to the media, Misal highlighted some of her accomplishments over the years, including improvements in water supply, road infrastructure, and electricity services.
She pointed out that flyovers at Swargate and Sinhagad Road have successfully reduced traffic congestion, while the riverbank road project has been approved.
Misal also mentioned the ongoing construction of a multimodal hub at Swargate, integrated through the metro network, which aims to connect all major public transport services in the city.
The Swargate-Katraj underground metro project has also been approved and had its foundation laid. In healthcare, a 500-bed hospital is being constructed in Bibwewadi, with 100 beds already operational.
Responding to the growing interest from other candidates in contesting the Parvati seat, Misal stated, “It’s perfectly fine for others to express their interest.
Former leader of the municipal house, Shrinath Bhimale, has even started his campaign. However, there is no conflict between us. I continue to invite him to my events, but he does not extend the same courtesy.
Regardless, I am confident in my track record, and other candidates’ ambitions will not impact the election outcome. In the past, too, many have contested against me, but I still emerged victorious,” Misal explained.
She added that even if the party nominates another candidate, she will support the party’s decision and work for their victory.
