Pune: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has agreed to meet a key demand by announcing that it will release advertisements for Group A, Group B, and Group B (Junior) positions in the Maharashtra Agricultural Service within the next 2-3 days.
The decision comes after intense demonstrations in Navi Peth area of Pune, where students demanded the inclusion of these positions in the upcoming MPSC exam.
Students preparing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exams are demanding an increase in the number of positions available in the upcoming MPSC exam.
The protests began late last night (August 20) in the Shastri Nagar area and have continued into this morning, with several political organizations joining in to support the students' demands.
The students are calling for the inclusion of 258 positions from the Group A, Group B, and Group B (Junior) categories in the Maharashtra Agricultural Service in the MPSC exam scheduled for August 25. However, the MPSC has made it clear that there will be no increase in the number of positions for the upcoming exam.
In response to the students' demands, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission has announced that an advertisement for the Group A, Group B, and Group B (Junior) positions in the Maharashtra Agricultural Service will be released in the next 2-3 days. Additionally, a preliminary exam for these positions is planned for the end of October 2024.
Despite this announcement, the students remain unsatisfied, continuing their protests in various parts of Pune. The police are currently attempting to mediate and bring the situation under control.
