Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has released the results for the 10th and 12th supplementary exams.

This year, the pass rate for the 10th grade stands at 36.78%, while the 12th grade saw a pass rate of 32.46%. Both results show an improvement compared to last year's figures.

The announcement was made by the Board’s President Sharad Gosavi and Secretary Anuradha Oak. The 10th-grade supplementary exams were conducted from July 16 to August 30, and the 12th-grade exams took place from July 16 to August 8. Students who wish to apply for re-evaluation or obtain photocopies of their answer sheets can do so between August 24 and September 2.

This year, 32,386 students registered for the 10th-grade supplementary exam, with 31,270 appearing for it. Of these, 11,502 students passed, with a pass rate of 36.78%. Girls outperformed boys with pass rates of 38.88% and 35.89%, respectively.

The Pune division had a pass rate of 28.60%, while the Nagpur division recorded 49.91%, and the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division achieved 49.94%.

For the 12th grade, 60,160 students registered for the exam, with 59,200 appearing. Out of these, 19,217 students passed, resulting in a pass rate of 32.46%.

The science stream recorded the highest pass rate at 52.52%, followed by the arts stream at 24.87%, and commerce at 19.44%. Girls once again outshone boys, with pass rates of 35.54% and 30.76%, respectively.

The Board noted a 6.92% improvement in the 10th-grade pass rate compared to last year, while the 12th-grade results saw a slight increase of 0.33%.
