Pune: The Maharashtra State Examination Council is gearing up for the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which is scheduled for November 10, 2024.
With 353,937 students having registered for the examination, anticipation is high as it has been nearly three years since the last TET.
The TET will be conducted in 36 districts across the state. An updated timetable released by the Maharashtra State Examination Council states that Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-1 will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, while Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-2 will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
This announcement was made by Commissioner Anuradha Oak through an official press release.
Following the exposure of a TET examination scam, the council contemplated conducting the TET online to enhance transparency and ensure a smooth examination process.
However, due to difficulties in creating question papers in various languages, it was decided to conduct the TET in an offline format. Preparations for this format are now in full swing.
The examination is planned to take place at 1,029 centers throughout the state. The examination council is actively holding meetings with center heads and educational officials to ensure that all arrangements are meticulously organized for the upcoming exam.
Recently, the Maharashtra School Education Department extended the deadline for primary school teachers appointed under the compassionate employment scheme to clear the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) from three years to five years.
