Hingoli: After Amravati, a week-long lockdown will be enforced Hingoli, Maharashtra amid the rising cases of novel coronavirus. The restrictions will be in place from Monday and will continue to March 7.
Schools, colleges, religious places and wedding halls will shut closed during the period, while banks will function only for administrative work. Officials working in banks are instructed to carry their ID cards while commuting to their workplace. On the other side, milk shops will be permitted to operate from 9 am to 5 pm. Medical stores are also allowed to remain open during the period.
Also, the petrol pumps are ordered to sell fuel only to vehicles of the government and those engaged in essential services. The administration has permitted works related to the departments of health, electricity, water drainage and sanitation.

Hotels and other food suppliers for students, who hail from other districts and are currently staying in Hingoli, are ordered to operate parcel service between 9 am and 7 pm, the order stated. A total of 46 new cases were reported on Saturday in Hingoli, taking its tally to 4,083.
Before Hingoli, districts in Vidarbha such as Yavatmal, Amravati, Buldhana are witnessing a sudden spike in the spread of COVID-19. Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Saturday reported more than 8,000 new cases for the fourth consecutive day, increasing the caseload in the state to 21,46,777.
