Pune: Malabar Group unveiled its National Scholarship Programme for 2024 at a special event held at Bharat Diamond Bourse, BKC, Mumbai.
The event was inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, and attended by Malabar Group’s leadership, including Chairman MP Ahammed, MD for India Operations Asher O, Vice-Chairman Abdul Salam K P, Executive Director Nishad AK, and Director Shaunak Parikh of Mahendra Brothers.
This year, the scholarship programme has allocated ₹16 crore to support the education of more than 21,000 girl students across the country.
“Education is the most powerful tool to change the world,” said MP Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group. “Our scholarship programme is a testament to Malabar Group’s belief in the transformative power of education. We are committed to removing barriers for young girls so they can pursue their dreams and contribute to society.”
Malabar Group allocates 5% of its profits to a wide range of CSR initiatives, including education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and poverty alleviation, with a focus on uplifting marginalized communities.
The Malabar National Scholarship Programme, launched in 2007, is the centerpiece of the Group’s CSR activities.
To date, the programme has invested over ₹60 crore and supported more than 95,000 girl students across India. By emphasizing girls' education, Malabar Group seeks to drive broader social and economic development.
Beyond education, Malabar Group’s CSR initiatives extend to providing medical aid for the underprivileged, supporting housing construction, and offering financial assistance for the marriages of women in need.
