Pune: In a disturbing incident at a fitness center in Katraj, a man allegedly stripped naked and engaged in obscene behavior in front of a woman.
The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station received a complaint from a 30-year-old woman residing in Kondhwa, leading to a case being filed against the accused, Sanjay Rajaram Yerunkar, a resident of MK Fitness in Sukhsagar Nagar, Katraj.
The incident occurred on Friday evening around 4:30 p.m. at the MK Fitness center. According to the police, Yerunkar disrobed upon seeing the complainant and began behaving obscenely.
When the woman confronted him, Yerunkar verbally abused her with offensive language. The matter is currently under investigation, with police constable Bhosale leading the inquiry.
Alandi Police Launch Safety Awareness Program in Schools
Pune: The Damini and Nirbhaya police teams from Alandi Police Station have begun conducting awareness sessions in schools throughout Alandi, focusing on educating students about personal safety, including the crucial distinction between "good touch" and "bad touch."
The initiative, led by female officers from the Alandi Police Station, aims to empower young girls by teaching them how to recognize and respond to inappropriate behavior.
Officers Maya More, Pooja Naik, Sheetal Daundkar, and Hirabai Talpe have been visiting schools like Dnyaneshwar Vidyalaya, where they advise students to avoid interactions with strangers and be cautious if offered sweets or valuable items.
Furthermore, they have encouraged the students to minimize mobile phone usage, restricting it to academic purposes only.
