Pune: A distressing incident occurred at the Pu. La. Deshpande Garden on Sinhagad Road where a man allegedly took photos of women inside a restroom using his mobile phone.

The Parvati Police have filed a case against the suspect, identified as Vikas Chandrakant Pawar, a resident of Janata Vasahat.

According to the information provided by the police, the complainant, along with a 60-year-old woman who resides in her neighborhood, regularly visits Pu. La. Deshpande Garden for a walk.

As usual, on Saturday evening, they went for a walk in the garden. The complainant went to the restroom in the garden. At that time, Vikas Pawar allegedly peered through the restroom window and took photos of her on his mobile phone.

The complainant, who is familiar with Pawar, realized he was taking photos and immediately raised an alarm, causing him to flee the scene. The Parvati Police have registered a case, and Police Sub-Inspector Patil is investigating the matter.

Recently, a man was arrested for allegedly leaked obscene photos of a woman online after she stopped speaking to him. The Lonikand police have registered a case against the 33-year-old man under the IT Act and for outraging the modesty of a woman.

The 32-year-old victim lodged a complaint at Lonikand police station on Wednesday, leading to the registration of the case against Sagar Mahadev Kale (33).
