Krishna Keshav Hingane, age 19, also a resident of Nighoje, filed a formal complaint at the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station, following which the police registered an attempted murder case against Atish Chandu Gaikwad, age 34, a native of Rahal Nagar, Akola.

According to Police Sub-Inspector Jaybhaye, who is handling the investigation, Kunte and Gaikwad, along with other roommates, are originally from various towns in the Vidarbha region and have come to the area for work.

On the night of the incident, Kunte and Gaikwad were alone in the room as their other roommates were out working. The two started drinking in the evening, and around 8 p.m., they sat down to eat.

During dinner, Gaikwad reportedly packed the good leftover lunch food and some discarded food together in one bag, which caused Kunte to question his actions, sparking an argument.

The disagreement escalated when Gaikwad, who was still in the room, followed Kunte outside, grabbed him by the shirt collar, and pushed him off the fourth-floor balcony. Kunte fell and suffered critical injuries to his hands, legs, and head, rendering him unable to speak.

In light of the severity of the injuries, police have charged Gaikwad with attempted murder, and the investigation is ongoing under the supervision of Police Sub-Inspector Jaybhaye.
