Man Shares Intimate Videos of Wife on Instagram and Mother-in-Law's Whatsapp

Pune: A 22-year-old married woman has filed a complaint against her husband for sending intimate videos of them to her mother and for defaming her on Instagram.

The police have registered a case against the 26-year-old husband under the Information Technology Act following the woman's complaint.

The alleged incidents took place between September 24 and 25 in Hadapsar. According to police reports, the complainant initially experienced a harmonious period in her marriage.

However, this changed dramatically when her husband began to physically abuse her and subject her to harassment. He reportedly started demanding money from her parental home as a reason for the assaults and treated her poorly during their marital discord.

Following several disputes, the husband left for his hometown, after which he created an Instagram account featuring pictures and videos of his wife.

He used this account to post intimate videos, tarnishing her reputation. Furthermore, he sent these videos to the complainant's mother via WhatsApp, thereby violating her dignity.

The Hadapsar police have officially registered the case, and Inspector Jagdale is currently leading the investigation into the matter.

In another incident reported recently, a 21-year-old woman had accused a man of repeatedly raping her after threatening to share intimate photos with her family.

According to the complaint filed at the Sinhagad Road Police Station, the accused, Ganesh Motiram Gaykar, had been harassing the victim since March 2023.
