Man Stages 'Sholay-Style' Protest Over Unreturned Loan Money

Pune: Frustrated over failing to recover borrowed money despite filing a police complaint, an individual staged a dramatic protest on a bridge near engineering college. The protester climbed onto the elevated edge of the bridge, reminiscent of a scene from the movie Sholay.

The incident occurred on Friday (August 16) afternoon. According to police reports, the individual, identified as Mahadik, climbed onto the high edge of the bridge near Shivajinagar. Concerned citizens promptly notified the police control room, who then attempted to persuade him to come down.

Fire trucks from Naidu and Kasba fire stations were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the fire and police personnel engaged in a dialogue with Mahadik, who was initially unwilling to descend.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the teams worked to establish positive communication. Using a ladder, they safely brought him down from the bridge.

After his safe rescue, Mahadik was taken into police custody and sent for a medical examination. Following the check-up, he provided a statement in which he revealed that he had filed a complaint against two individuals at the Warje police station.

Despite this, he expressed his frustration with the lack of resolution and stated that his protest was a result of his exasperation with not getting his money back.
