Pune: A woman has alleged that she was deceived by a man who promised to marry her, only to flee after establishing physical relations with her.
To make matters worse, the woman has also reported receiving death threats from the man's father, warning that if his son does not return, she will be shot.
The woman filed a complaint with Chatuhshrungi Police, naming three individuals: Pratik Dalal, 29, a native of Jhajjar, Haryana; his friend, Satyam Shivam, 27, from Darbhanga, Bihar; and Pratik's father, Vinodkumar Dalal, 53.
The incidents reportedly took place between August 2020 and June 2024 in the Balewadi and Pashan areas of Pune.
According to the police, Pratik Dalal befriended the complainant and lured her into a relationship under the pretext of marriage. Over time, he allegedly established both consensual and unnatural sexual relations with her. However, without fulfilling his promise of marriage, Dalal disappeared, leaving the woman in distress.
Compounding her trauma, Pratik’s friend, Satyam Shivam, who was living with the couple, reportedly molested the woman after Pratik’s disappearance. Shivam allegedly made advances toward her, saying, "Satisfy me too; no one is at home," before touching her inappropriately.
Things took a darker turn when Pratik's father, Vinodkumar Dalal, learned of the situation. Instead of helping resolve the matter, Vinodkumar reportedly called the complainant and threatened to shoot her if his son was not found.
Currently, the police are actively searching for Pratik Dalal, while further investigations are being led by sub-inspector Patil.
