Markal-Alandi Road: Traffic Snarls Affecting 300 Companies
Pune: The traffic jam is not only affecting the common man but also the industry sector.
The Markal-Dhanori-Alandi road has been facing a massive traffic jam in the last 15 days, causing a delay of about two hours for employees and workers of various companies, including citizens, to come to the company.
The industry in the area is in a state of shock as it is affecting the industry.
Meanwhile, Rajendra Kamble, president of Indrayani Industries Association, demanded that the administration impose restrictions on heavy traffic to relieve traffic congestion.
There are more than 300 companies on the Markal-Dhanori to Alandi route. It employs more than 15,000 people. In the last 15 days, the number of heavy vehicles plying on this road has increased.
These vehicles are running on Alandi road through Lonikand. It has a high number of vehicles such as tippers and trucks. Traffic snarls are rampant in the morning and evening hours.
As a result, employees are delayed by two to three hours in coming to work and going home. Moreover, local residents are also being affected by this traffic jam.
The possibility of an accident cannot be ruled out either. Rajendra Kamble demanded that the traffic police should ban heavy traffic from 7 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 6 pm.
A letter has also been sent to other concerned agencies, including the traffic police, seeking appropriate action in this regard. The association's treasurer Shankar Salunkhe and vice-president Mahendra Phanse were present on the occasion.
