Pune: Relatives of the deceased woman and two kids in the Maval triple murder case have demanded death penalty for the culprits. Meanwhile, the two suspects in this case have been remanded to police custody until July 30.
The shocking triple murder case in Maval has caused widespread outrage. A woman, who was pregnant from an extramarital affair, died during an abortion. While disposing of her body, her two young children, who started screaming, were thrown into a river by the accused.
The incident has caused immense grief and anger among the relatives of the deceased, who are calling for the harshest penalties. "Hang the brutal accused; what was the fault of those two innocent lives? Punish all those who lured our daughter and played with her life," they demanded.
On July 9, the woman died during an abortion facilitated by her lover, Gajendra Dagadkhair, and his friend, Ravikant Gaikwad, at Amar Hospital in Kalamboli.
Following her death, they transported the body to Maval to dispose of it in the Indrayani river. When the woman’s two children, aged 5 and 2, started crying, the men threw them into the river as well, fearing exposure.
The Talegaon MIDC police arrested the two accused after a detailed investigation. The family of the deceased, having lost contact with her, filed a missing persons report, prompting the police to uncover frequent communication between Gajendra and the woman, and between Gajendra and Ravikant.
Despite their initial denials, the accused eventually confessed to the crime under police interrogation.
