Pune: The gruesome triple murder case that has emerged in Maval taluka has left the community in shock. The horrific details were uncovered during the search for a missing woman, revealing a tragic sequence of events that occurred between July 6 and 9, 2024.
The woman died during an abortion procedure, and in a disturbing turn of events, her body was disposed of in the Indrayani river by the accused, who also threw her two crying children, aged 5 and 2 into the waters.
On July 6, the boyfriend, Gajendra Dagadkhair, took his pregnant girlfriend and her two children, aged 5 and 2, to Kalamboli. At Amar Hospital, the girlfriend underwent an abortion, but due to the negligence of the doctors, she died on July 8.
Following her death, a woman agent who facilitated the abortion intervened and brought the body to Maval with the help of Gajendra's friend, Ravikant Gaikwad.
On the night of July 9, Gajendra and Ravikant threw the body into the flowing waters of the Indrayani River. When the girlfriend’s two children started crying, fearing that their secret would be exposed, they took a step of extreme cruelty.
Without showing any mercy, they threw the two children alive into the same river. The next day, both men acted as if nothing had happened. During this time, the woman’s family, unable to contact her, filed a missing person report for all three at the Talegaon MIDC police station.
The police then started their investigation. It was found that Gajendra had frequently contacted the woman by phone, and he had also made several calls to his friend Ravikant around the same time.
Despite repeated and thorough questioning by the police, both men gave evasive answers. Eventually, under intense police pressure, they confessed to the crime. The Talegaon police have arrested both men, and further action is ongoing.
