Pune: In a disturbing incident, a 23-year-old man named Akshay has been arrested for allegedly following and threatening a minor girl with an acid attack if she did not accept his advances. The incident took place on October 14 at around 9 AM in the Karvenagar area.
The complaint was filed by the girl’s 29-year-old mother at Alankar Police Station. According to the police, the minor was on her way to school when Akshay approached her, expressing his feelings and claiming to have been watching her regularly.
Akshay said to the girl, "I see you every day. I like you a lot." The girl responded that she did not know him and did not want to speak with him. Angered by this, he threatened, "Say yes to me, or I will throw acid on your face."
Terrified, the girl reported the incident to her mother, who subsequently contacted the police. Authorities have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections. Police Sub-Inspector Shaikh is leading the investigation.
In a similar incident reported earlier, a 55-year-old man has been charged with molestation and assault after he blocked and attacked a woman on the Theur-Kolwadi road while she was on her way to pick up her daughter from school.
The accused, identified as Sudam Baburao Gawade, has been named in the police report filed at Loni Kalbhor police station. Gawade, driving a tempo, followed her and blocked her path near Kalpataru Baug.
After forcing her to stop, he grabbed her hand and made inappropriate comments, expressing his desire for her. When the woman resisted, Gawade physically assaulted her and pulling her down to the ground by her hair. He then attempted to strip her, tearing her clothes while threatening her.
