Pune: A minor girl in Pune successfully utilized her school's complaint box system to report the horrific abuse she suffered at the hands of a relative.

The girl had been subjected to sexual assault and intimidation by her 21-year-old relative.

Despite feeling trapped and fearful, she found the courage to write about her ordeal in the school's complaint box, installed as part of a safety initiative.

The complaint box, designed to provide a secure and anonymous platform for students to report concerns, proved to be a lifeline for the brave girl.

Her written account was promptly discovered by school authorities, who immediately notified the Bund Garden police.

Swift action followed, with the police arresting the accused relative and booking him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's mother at the Bund Garden police station, the accused is a relative of the victim.

Investigations revealed that the accused administered a sedative injection to the victim, took her pictures while she was unconscious, and threatened to circulate them on social media. He also intimidated the victim, warning her not to reveal the abuse to anyone.

The girl had not informed her family about the abuse due to fear of repercussions. Police Sub-Inspector Kale is investigating the case.
