Pune: A disturbing incident of sexual assault has shaken Pune after two 15-year-old girls from Baramati were allegedly violated by four individuals at a flat in Hadapsar.
The Baramati police have arrested three individuals in this case. The suspects have been identified as Dnyaneshwar Bharat Atole (27), Aniket Pramod Bengare (20), and Yash alias Sonya Shivaji Atole (21).
On September 14, the two minor girls, who are friends and classmates, left their homes in Baramati without informing their families. They traveled to Pune by MSRTC bus, where they met Dnyaneshwar Atole. Unbeknownst to their parents, Atole invited the girls to his friend's flat in Hadapsar.
Upon arrival, the girls were allegedly plied with alcohol and then gang-raped by the four accused. After the horrific ordeal, the girls managed to escape and reached a bus stop in Hadapsar. One of the girls used a passenger's mobile phone to call her mother, who immediately alerted the Baramati Taluka police.
The police sprang into action, notifying their Hadapsar counterparts, who rescued the girls. The victims were then taken to the Baramati police station, where female officers provided counseling and support.
During the investigation, the girls revealed the shocking details of their ordeal. The police subsequently arrested Dnyaneshwar Atole, who led them to the other accused.
Two cases have been registered, including one under the Atrocity Act and another for sexual exploitation. The police are still searching for the fourth accused.
