Pimpri Chinchwad: A young man was murdered by three assailants who stabbed him after a dispute regarding payment for a mobile phone. Following the incident, the assailants attempted to flee to Telangana, but the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s Crime Branch Unit III apprehended them.
The victim has been identified as Akash Pardeshi (28), a resident of Mahadevnagar, Bhosari. The accused include Satyajit Shankar Kambale (23) and Nikhil Rajiv Kambale (21), also from Mahadevnagar, along with Ramesh Namdev Kambale, Devanand alias Gaurav Ramesh Kambale, and Manav Mahendra Kambale (21), who are originally from Hadko, near Siddheshwar Temple in Nanded district.
According to police reports, the incident originated from a financial dispute over a mobile phone. Karthik Sabe had sold a mobile phone to Ramesh Kambale for 12,000 rupees, of which only 500 rupees had been paid. When Karthik demanded the remaining balance, Akash intervened, advising Karthik to let it go.
This enraged Ramesh, who left the scene but later returned with accomplices to confront Akash. In a brutal attack, Ramesh stabbed Akash in the back, causing severe injuries. Akash was rushed to YCM Hospital but was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Following the murder, the Crime Branch Unit III initiated a comprehensive investigation, forming three teams to locate the suspects. They conducted searches in Dighi, Karla, Lonavala, Mumbai, and Nanded, collecting information from relatives and friends. Confidential tips led them to Sambhajinagar, where they successfully arrested Satyajit and Nikhil Kambale on October 10.
The police spent four days in Nanded as part of the investigation. They traced the suspects from Nanded to Kinwat, ultimately apprehending Ramesh, Devanand, and Manav Kambale as they attempted to escape to Telangana. The Crime Branch employed traditional investigative techniques to gather evidence and close the case despite initial challenges.
