In another crime incident, a 60-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening for attempting to murder a young man over a year-old Diwali dispute.

The accused, Satish Murlidhar Dhole, allegedly tried to stab 23-year-old Kartikesh Dashrath Rane with a knife outside a puja material shop near the Shani Temple in Lower Indiranagar, Kondhwa.

According to the Bibwewadi police, the two men live in the same housing society. The conflict between them dates back to a minor argument in 2023 during Diwali when Dhole visited Rane's shop.

On Saturday, as the temple was crowded with devotees, Dhole confronted Rane, covered his mouth, and attempted to stab him while threatening to kill him.

Rane managed to fend off the attack, suffering a minor injury to his left thumb in the process. Dhole was immediately apprehended at the scene. Police Sub-Inspector Yewle is investigating the incident.
