Mumbai will experience a major water supply disruption this week as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) undertakes crucial maintenance work.
Starting from 8 PM on Thursday, September 19, water supply to several areas in Andheri and Jogeshwari will be suspended for a duration of 18 hours. The suspension will continue until 2 PM on Friday, September 20.
The maintenance work involves the replacement of four valves on the 750-mm diameter Parle-Vesave (Versova) pipeline, which is part of the Verawali Reservoir-2.
This essential work is expected to affect water distribution across the K-East and K-West wards, which include the Andheri and Jogeshwari regions.
In light of the disruption, the municipal authorities have advised residents to filter and boil their water for the next 4 to 5 days after the supply is restored to ensure its safety.
The areas impacted by this water suspension include Mahakali Road, Poonam Nagar, Goni Nagar, Takshashila Road, MMRDA Colony, Durga Nagar, Paper Box, Malpa Dongri No. 3, Sher-e-Punjab, Bindra Complex, Hanjir Nagar, Ganesh Nagar, Shobhana Area,
Sundar Nagar, Gautam Nagar, Modern Bakery, Prajapurpada, Tripathi Nagar, Munchi Colony, Bastiwala Compound, Achchhan Colony, Collector Compound, Sariput Nagar, Durganagar, Matoshree Club, and other neighboring regions.
Residents are urged to make necessary arrangements in advance to cope with the water supply interruption.
