Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently shared an interesting story about how veteran actor Nana Patekar helped him tone down his energetic speeches, which had become a signature style in his political career.

The revelation came during an event organized by the Naam Foundation in Pune, a charitable organization co-founded by Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure.

Recalling his earlier days in politics, Fadnavis said, "I used to give speeches with a lot of passion, often raising my voice to make a point.

After every speech, within minutes, Nana would call me and say, 'You spoke well, Devendra, but if you keep shouting like that, you'll end up with a heart attack. Speak more calmly.' This continued for a while, and eventually, Nana was the one who changed my speaking style."

Fadnavis credited Nana for helping him cultivate a more measured and composed manner during his public addresses, a shift that many have noticed in recent years. "The calm way you see me speaking today is all because of Nana," he admitted.

During the event, Fadnavis also praised the efforts of the Naam Foundation, which works to support farmers and families affected by drought and other calamities.

He expressed his admiration for the foundation’s team, offering his full support as a volunteer. He encouraged the organization to reach out to him if they ever faced any difficulties in their work.

The Naam Foundation, established by Patekar and Anaspure, has been actively involved in several social initiatives, particularly in rural Maharashtra.

The foundation continues to expand its work with the help of volunteers and well-wishers, focusing on the welfare of farmers and disaster relief.
