Delhi: Five out of 266 passengers of flight arrived from London tested positive for novel coronavirus. The flight arrived from London to Delhi on Monday night.

News agency ANI on their Twitter handle wrote, "Five out of 266 passengers & crew members of a flight which arrived at Delhi airport from London last night have tested positive for COVID-19. Their samples have been sent to NCDC for research & they have been sent to care centre: Nodal officer for COVID-19."

However, India has not yet detected the new strain of COVID that has made its mark in some parts of the UK. The Indian government on Monday decided to suspend all flights from the United Kingdom till December 31,amid the spread of a new strain of coronavirus identified which is considered up to 70 per cent more infectious than the original one.

Cases of the new strain have also been in detected in some other nation namely Italy, Denmark and the Netherlands. Australia stated that two people who travelled from Britain to New South Wales were carrying the new strain virus.
