The Republic Day celebrations in Delhi is a visual treat for every Indian, courtesy to its grandeur. Every year, we witness magnificent and alluring tableau in the grand parade of January 26 but this year the celebrations on Republic Day will be different.
Only limited people are allowed to visit New Delhi's Rajpath on January 26. Keeping COVID situation in mind, there are multiple changes which will be observed on Tuesday.
Here are some changes in the Republic Day celebrations this year at Rajpath amid COVID-19:
There will be no veteran's parade by ex-servicemen and women this year.
There will be no motorcycle stunts by the Army and CAPF members.
Children below the age of 15 will not be allowed while no enclosure for school children too.
After 1966, India will not have a Chief Guest at the parade after United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson decided to cancel his visit to India amid new strain of COVID.
Rafale fighter jets will be kn display this year at the Republic Day Parade.
The parade will see the participation of a woman fighter pilot too. Flight Lieutenant Bhawna Kanth will be a part of the IAF's tableau which will show drills of fighter planes.
Ram Temple will feature among many tableaux that will be on display during the parade.
A maximum of 25,000 spectators will be permitted to attend the parade. Previously, 1,50,000 people were allowed.
