Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s official handle on Twitter posted the video of the rescue operations inside Tapovan tunnel, after the Uttarakhand flash flood, on February 9. The footage, however, is of the operations carried out on February 7.

The tweet mentions, “...(The) ITBP personnel rescued 12 trapped workers from the tunnel. All these workers are now at the 1st Battalion ITBP, Joshimath Hospital for treatment.”
While the rescue operations are still underway, the efforts by the Himveers have been applauded by netizens.

Since the flash flood struck Uttrakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday, as many as 26 bodies have been recovered from different areas, while 197 people are still missing, said State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) on Monday. While some experts believe that the flood was caused by the glacier burst, the real cause for the disaster is yet to be ascertained.
