Pune: Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has released its first list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.
This announcement comes soon after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) revealed its candidates for the state polls. The NCP, a crucial part of the Mahayuti coalition, aims to strengthen its electoral position through this selection.
Ajit Pawar himself will contest from his stronghold in Baramati, with his nomination filing scheduled for October 28. Known for his deep roots in the constituency, his candidacy has attracted significant attention from across the state.
Another key candidate announced by the Ajit Pawar group is Chhagan Bhujbal, who will contest from Yeola. Bhujbal, a senior leader in Maharashtra politics, is considered a strong candidate.
The Ajit Pawar faction has placed a special focus on empowering women in this election. Aditi Tatkare from Shrivardhan, Sanjay Bansode from Udgir, and Nirmala Vitekar from Arjuni Morgaon are some of the female candidates included in the list, showcasing the party's commitment to giving women leadership roles.
