Pune: A 13-year-old boy was injured in an assault by a neighbor who objected to him playing in their residential area. The incident occurred in Kondhwe Dhawade on Friday (August 16) night.

The injured boy, identified as Samar Gajanan Jadhav, sustained injuries after being attacked with a weapon by Rajendra Sopan Bidkar, a 55-year-old resident of Bhairavnath Nagar, Kondhwe Dhawade.

According to the complaint filed by Akhil Gajanan Jadhav (40), the boy’s father, Bidkar confronted Samar about playing in the area and then struck him on the left side of his face, below his left eye, and above his left ear.

The attack took place at around 9:45 PM in front of Ansari House Building. Following the incident, the Uttamnagar Police have arrested Rajendra Bidkar. Police Sub-Inspector Raigonda is currently investigating the case.

It may be recalled that a nine-year-old boy was slapped by a girl's father following a dispute that erupted over teasing and a kicked trash bin. The boy suffered swelling in his eardrum and right jaw as a result of the incident.

The incident had occurred on August 15, around 12:15 PM, in a high-end society in the Aundh area. The boy's mother had filed a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi police station against the girl's father.

In another incident, a married woman’s son was attacked with a knife by her paramour, resulting in injuries to the boy. The incident occurred on Thursday (August 1) in the Sasane Nagar area of Hadapsar.
