Pune: In a bid to enhance passenger convenience, Indian Railways has decided to introduce additional stops for two major express trains at Kirloskarwadi and Sangli.
The Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Goa Express and the Yeshvantpur-Chandigarh Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express will now halt at these stations, benefiting local travelers who have long requested these stops.
Train No. 12780 Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Goa Express will begin halting at Kirloskarwadi from October 8, 2024. The train is scheduled to arrive at Kirloskarwadi at 9:13 PM and will remain at the station for one minute before proceeding.
Similarly, the return leg, Train No. 12779 Vasco Da Gama-Nizamuddin Goa Express, will stop at Kirloskarwadi on October 9 at 11:23 PM for a brief one-minute halt.
Additionally, Train No. 22685 Yeshvantpur-Chandigarh Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express will halt at Sangli from 3:00 PM to 3:34 PM. The return train, No. 22686 Chandigarh-Yeshvantpur Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express, will arrive at Sangli at 3:52 PM, making a brief stop of one minute.
These newly added stops will offer much-needed relief to passengers traveling through these regions, allowing for easier access to long-distance train services without the need to travel to larger nearby stations.
Recently, in view of the festive rush, the railways decided to provide halt at Pune and other locations for the Mumbai-Latur Special train.
The train now halts at several major stations, including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Uruli, Daund, Bhigwan, Jeur, Kem, Kurduwadi, Barshi Town, Osmanabad, and Harangul. These stops have been included to facilitate passengers traveling to various parts of Maharashtra during the Diwali season.
