Pune Police have now released sketches of two suspects involved in the gang-rape of 21-year-old woman at Pune’s Bopdev Ghat. The crime was allegedly perpetrated by three men in the early hours of October 4. Despite police efforts, no arrests have been made so far.

The sketches were prepared on the basis of descriptions provided by the victim’s companion, hoping for public assistance in identifying the attackers.

The investigation gained momentum after CCTV footage from the area was discovered, showing three men loitering near a bike outside a local shop around 1:36 AM on the same day.

This footage, which surfaced online, is being widely shared on social media platforms. Police are using it as a key lead in the ongoing investigation. However, the identities of the three suspects remain unknown.

According to police reports, the woman and her male friend had gone to Bopdev Ghat for a late-night walk. Around that time, three men approached them.

The perpetrators forcefully tied up the woman’s friend using his own clothes and physically assaulted him. Armed with a sickle and bamboo sticks, they took turns sexually assaulting the young woman.

In addition to the assault, the attackers robbed the woman of her jewelry. Before fleeing the scene, they threatened both victims with dire consequences if they dared report the crime. The attack left the victims traumatized, and the assailants quickly fled into the night.
