Pune: Passengers planning to travel by train from Pune during the Diwali season without confirmed tickets may face challenges, as several trains have already reached ‘regret’ status, indicating no further availability.
For many services, especially those heading north, the waiting lists have soared, some even exceeding 400. Trains going to Southern destinations, as well as those to Solapur, Kolhapur, and Ahmedabad, are also heavily booked, with substantial waiting lists.
To accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger traffic, the railway administration has introduced over 70 additional trains departing from Pune.
Several of these services are scheduled to run between October 22 and 25, aimed at alleviating the rush and providing more options for travelers.

Recently, the Indian Railways had decided to introduce additional stops for two major express trains at Kirloskarwadi and Sangli.
The Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Goa Express and the Yeshvantpur-Chandigarh Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express will now halt at these stations, benefiting local travelers who have long requested these stops.
