Pune: Despite Pune’s main dams being filled to capacity, the city’s residents are experiencing ongoing water shortages due to municipal water supply disruptions.

The latest shutdown, announced by the municipal administration to undertake pipeline repairs, is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, impacting Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Magarpatta City and surrounding regions.

Last week, the municipal corporation halted the citywide water supply for a full day to carry out electrical maintenance at water purification centers.

Residents were informed that water would be restored the next day at low pressure and a delayed schedule. However, many areas saw no improvement the following day, with water unavailable at both expected pressure and timing.

This delay left residents scrambling for water for two days, leading many to file complaints with the municipal water department. When citizens attempted to reach area-specific municipal officials, they received no response, increasing their frustration.

The next water outage, announced for Saturday, October 26, aims to allow repairs on the pipeline from the Lashkar water center to Ramtekdi.

Water will be shut off in Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Magarpatta City, and surrounding regions for the full day. According to the Lashkar Water Supply Department, residents in these areas can expect delayed and low-pressure water restoration by Sunday, October 27.
