Pune: In response to the ongoing struggle over Maratha and OBC reservations in the state, a significant sense of insecurity has gripped the economically disadvantaged OBC community.
The Sakal OBC community has announced a major gathering in Katraj, South Pune, to express gratitude towards leaders who are working to protect OBC reservations.
The gathering, planned on the Katraj-Kondhwa Road, aims to unify the community's voice against any disruption to their reservation rights.
Citizens and activists from various OBC communities participated in a preparatory meeting where slogans like "One OBC, All OBC" resonated strongly.
The OBC community in the state is economically poor and socially backward. It was unanimously decided to demand that reservations be granted to other communities without affecting the OBC reservation.
A significant OBC population resides in areas like Katraj, Kondhwa, Santosh Nagar, Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Dhankawadi, Balaji Nagar, Ambegaon Pathar, Gokul Nagar, Sukhsagar Nagar, Tilekar Nagar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Dattanagar, and Ambegaon.
Considering the sentiments and concerns of the entire OBC community, this gratitude gathering has been organized. The OBC activists expressed confidence that a large number of community members will attend this gathering.
NCP leader Sharad Pawar has called for a unified approach from all political parties in the state regarding the Maratha and OBC reservation issue.
He has urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to convene an all-party meeting to address the issue, emphasizing the importance of maintaining social harmony.
