Observation Home Caretaker Forces Minor Girl to Perform Obscene Acts

Pune: A disturbing incident of alleged sexual harassment has surfaced at a observation home in Pune, prompting swift action from authorities. A caretaker has been accused of subjecting a 16-year-old girl to sexual harassment, including threats and obscene gestures.

The victim, who was sent to the observation home by the Juvenile Justice Board, reported the incidents to a committee formed by the District Women and Child Development Officer. The committee's inquiry revealed shocking allegations, including threats to coerce the girl into same-sex relationships with other inmates.

According to the police complaint filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sections 74 and 79 of the Indian Penal Code.

The caretaker allegedly threatened the girl, saying, "You are a lesbian. Have relationships with other girls in the institution." The victim also claimed that she was forced to perform obscene acts.

The District Women and Child Development Officer has taken serious cognizance of the matter and filed a complaint against the caretaker. A committee was formed to investigate the allegations, and the committee members visited the observation home to inquire with the girl.

"We take allegations of sexual harassment extremely seriously," said a District Women and Child Development Officer spokesperson. "Immediate action was taken, and a complaint filed with the Mundhwa Police Station."

The Mundhwa police have launched an investigation into the allegations. "We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals, especially vulnerable children," said a police spokesperson. The Mundhwa police are investigating the case.
