'One Step for the Country' Walkathon Organised on Sunday
Pune: The 150th anniversary of the production of the brilliant poem 'Vande Mataram', which gave rise to the Indian freedom struggle, will begin on Thursday (March 7).
On this occasion, Indian history collectors will come to the national level through the committee. Milind Sabnis, vice-chairman of the executive committee, gave this information at a press conference.
The programme will begin at Bharat Natya Mandir at 5 pm on Friday with an audio-visual programme titled 'Vande Mataram'. A walkathon with the central theme of 'One Step for the Country' will be held at 7 am on Sunday.
The walkathon route is from Shubharambh Lawns to Rajaram Bridge near Mhatre Bridge.
'Vande Mataram' mass singing will be held in various schools in Pune on Monday. Sabnis said the song 'Vande Mataram' is a symbol of our freedom struggle and the history of India's independence cannot be complete without this song.
We are organizing various programs in every state to take Vande Mataram to every household.
The committee's working president Shirish Patwardhan, working president Sanjay Bhandare and vice-president Arun Chandra Pathak were present on the occasion.
