Opposition to Tunnelling Dimbhe Dam
Mancher: "Attempts are on again to divert water from Karjat-Jamkhed area by tunnelling the Dimbhe dam from the bottom. If that happens, the dam will be empty in three months.
The right and left canals as well as the 62 dams on the Ghod, Meena and Kukdi rivers cannot be filled with water. Again, the area will be in the midst of a drought crisis.
All the farmers, including me, are opposed to the tunnel. I will fight to prevent the tunnel from happening and put all my energies into it," said Dilip Walse Patil, NCP candidate from Ambegaon-Shirur assembly constituency.
Walse Patil was speaking at a press conference held at Manchar (Ambegaon) on Wednesday. Bjp's Jaisingh Erande, Shiv Sena's Santosh Doke, NCP taluka president Vishnu Hinge, Arun Gire and Aruna Thorat were present on the occasion. On this occasion, Walse Patil also released the manifesto of Ambegaon-Shirur.
"We will demolish the Dimbhe dam to bring water to Karjat-Jamkhed," said a video of MLA Rohit Pawar. Walse Patil said, "Before the Dimbhe dam was built, the land used to remain barren after Diwali. But dams, dams and canals have turned into horticulture.
There is a conspiracy to demolish the tunnel and take away the water from the dam. I opposed this kind of thing. The tunnel was then cancelled. We will not allow the tunnel to happen under any circumstances."
