Pune: Despite being summoned three times, trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar has not appeared before the Pune Police. The police have been trying to reach her for the past eight days, but she remains unreachable, according to a senior police officer.
Khedkar had filed a harassment complaint against District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase in Washim. Following this, Pune Police ordered her to record her statement, issuing three summonses, but she has not appeared. Attempts to contact her have failed as her mobile number is out of reach.
In a separate case, a bail hearing is scheduled for Monday (July 29) for Manorama Khedkar, who, along with her husband Dilip Khedkar, is accused of threatening a farmer with a gun over a land dispute in Mulshi taluka. The court has already granted pre-arrest bail to Dilip Khedkar on a bond of ₹30,000.
Pune police have been trying to contact Puja Khedkar for a week, but she remains unreachable. Khedkar had initially requested more time when summoned twice earlier, but she has not appeared before the police even after a third summons.
Khedkar has accused Divase of harassment during her training period, and this complaint was lodged with Washim Police, who transferred it to Pune Police.
There are suspicions that Khedkar's parents may have falsely claimed a divorce to show a lower income. The central government had directed the state government to submit a detailed report on the matter.
Recently, Pune Police submitted this report to the center following state government directives.
